Superb Steve Knight Toolworks 8″ High‑Angle Smooth Plane
Three Exotic Woods • Razor‑Sharp 1/4″ Thick Iron**
A superb Steve Knight Toolworks 8″ high‑angle smooth plane, crafted from three different exotic woods and fitted with a razor‑sharp 1/4″ thick iron. This is one of Knight’s most visually striking and high‑performing small smoothers—compact, elegant, and built for exceptional surface quality.
The laminated exotic‑wood body shows Knight’s signature sculptural style, with bold grain contrasts and crisp workmanship throughout. The high‑angle bed makes this plane especially effective on difficult or interlocked grain, producing clean, controlled shavings where standard‑angle smoothers struggle.
The 1/4″ thick iron is wickedly sharp and ready to work, bedded solidly for a lively, precise feel in the hand. These early Knight smoothers are increasingly sought after, and this is a standout example.
A beautiful, functional small smoother—perfect for the user who appreciates high‑angle performance or the collector of modern boutique wooden planes.
