Superb Stanley No. 118 Adjustable‑Iron Low‑Angle Block Plane
Unbreakable Steel • School‑Use Model (1933–1983)
A superb Stanley No. 118 low‑angle block plane, built with Stanley’s unbreakable steel body and designed for decades of rugged school use from 1933 to 1983. These planes are seriously underrated—they’re virtually indestructible and feature the most secure, no‑nonsense lever cap in the entire Stanley line.
The No. 118 also boasts Stanley’s lowest cutting angle at 12°, making it excellent on end grain and tough hardwoods. Unlike cast‑iron block planes, the steel body is not prone to mouth fractures, giving this model a reputation for durability that few others match.
Clean, crisp, and ready for work—an outstanding example of a tough, reliable Stanley classic.
