A superb‑looking cabinet makers scraping plane with a dramatic bulbous rear handle and a beautifully fitted rosewood sole, a striking and highly functional form that always stands out in a collection. The rosewood sole measures 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ (with the full plane measuring 4 1/2″ across the sole and 4 1/2″ front to back), giving it a wonderfully broad, stable footprint ideal for controlled scraping on flat panels.
The handle has that sculptural, full‑bodied shape associated with early shop‑made or small‑maker cabinet scrapers—comfortable in the hand and visually impressive. The rosewood sole shows rich color and tight grain, and the overall plane has the warm, honest patina of a well‑kept tool.
A standout example of a classic cabinet makers scraper—both functional and display‑worthy, with exceptional presence.
