A superb 12-inch brass and rosewood level, boldly marked R. S. Bennet on the rosewood stock and “Warranted Correct” on the brass plate—a striking, early example with real presence.
The rosewood has rich color and tight grain, and the brass carries a warm, even patina that complements the crisp stamping. The proportions are elegant, the edges clean, and the overall feel is that of a well‑made, confidently executed 19th‑century level.
A handsome, character‑rich brass and rosewood level—accurate, well preserved, and full of charm.
