Rare Taylor Patent 1903 Floor Scraper Plane – Sold by Cobbs & MitchellA rare Taylor Patent Floor Scraper Plane, patented in 1903, and sold by the well‑known Michigan lumber firm Cobbs & Mitchell. These scraper planes were produced in very limited numbers and are seldom seen today, especially with clear retailer provenance. This is a standout example of an early patented floor scraper designed for heavy, efficient stock removal on flooring and large surfaces. The Taylor Patent scraper features a robust cast body, a stout cutter held at a low angle, and a form built for long, controlled strokes. Examples tied to Cobbs & Mitchell are particularly desirable, as the company was a major supplier of lumber and woodworking tools in the early 20th century, making this a piece with both toolmaking and regional history.Always free shipping from Michael Rouillard Tools.
