Ohio Tool Company No. 02 Smooth Plane
Proper OTC‑Marked Iron • Chip at Top of Tote
A solid and honest Ohio Tool Company No. 02 Smooth Plane, complete with its properly marked Ohio Tool Co. iron. These early OTC bench planes have a distinctive feel—slightly heavier casting, clean lines, and a reputation for producing a fine surface when tuned.
This example is as found, with good bones and all major components present. The tote has a chip at the top, clearly shown in the photos, but remains stable and comfortable in the hand. The knob is clean, the adjuster turns freely, and the sole has the dry, untouched look collectors appreciate.
A great worker‑grade or restoration‑grade No. 02 from one of the classic American makers.
