Minty Auriou 12″ Cabinet Rasp / FileGrain 8 • Hand‑Made in France • Premium Hand‑Stitched QualityA superb minty Auriou 12″ Cabinet Rasp, grain 8, fully hand‑forged and hand‑stitched in France. Auriou rasps are widely regarded as the finest in the world, and this example shows exactly why: the craftsmanship, tooth geometry, and cutting performance are unmatched. The densely patterned hand‑stitched teeth leave an exceptionally smooth surface with no scratch pattern, and the rasp’s tapered tip allows you to concentrate the cut in tight areas with precision. Though often described as half‑round rasps, Auriou’s cabinetmaker’s pattern is designed for general shaping—perfect for cabriole legs, chair backs, sculptural work, and refined stock removal. The flat face is slightly cambered, preventing the rasp from digging in when working flat surfaces. The teeth are stitched with a right‑ or left‑hand bias, allowing natural angled strokes while maintaining full cutting efficiency. Finished with a comfortable walnut handle, this rasp is a joy to use and a premium upgrade for any shop.
