The 1/2″-shank version (78860) is designed for stock from 1/4″ to 1-1/4″ thick and incorporates a built-in fence boss, rather than a pilot bearing, that matches the cutting diameter to simplify fence positioning. A built-in FitFinder Center Platform on both bits provides a reference point for setting correct bit height using a Micro Jig FitFinder 1/2 Gauge Center Finder (78027, sold separately).
