Lie‑Nielsen No. 9 Miter Plane – Long Discontinued • Solid User ExampleA very nice Lie‑Nielsen No. 9 Miter Plane, long discontinued and increasingly difficult to find on the secondary market. This example was pulled from a working shop and shows honest signs of use, but remains in strong, fully functional condition — exactly what you want in a plane built for precision end‑grain work. The No. 9 is Lie‑Nielsen’s interpretation of the classic Stanley No. 9 “cabinetmaker’s miter plane,” prized for shooting, trimming, and fine fitting tasks. With its long, heavy body and low‑angle bed, it excels on end grain and excels at bringing joinery to final perfection.Since Lie‑Nielsen discontinued this model years ago, user‑grade examples like this have become highly sought after by woodworkers and collectors alike.
