Great Stanley No. 5½C Corrugated Jumbo Jack Plane
Wide‑Body Jack • Corrugated Bottom • Excellent Worker
A great Stanley No. 5½C Jumbo Jack Plane, the wider and heavier version of the standard No. 5 and one of the most versatile planes Stanley produced. The corrugated sole reduces friction and makes this plane glide nicely in use, especially on resinous or difficult woods.
This example is a solid, honest worker—clean, tight, and ready for the bench. The adjustments move smoothly, the rosewood has good color, and the plane carries the extra mass that makes the 5½ such a favorite for flattening, panel work, and taking fine shavings with control.
