Great Early Stanley No. 7 Jointer Plane — Pre‑Lateral, Type 4 Era
Early Rosewood • Low Beaded Front Knob • Bailey Patent Dates in Brass Nut
A great early Stanley No. 7 Jointer Plane, from the desirable pre‑lateral Type 4 period, featuring all the classic early details collectors look for. This example has an early rosewood tote with rich color and an early low‑beaded rosewood front knob, both hallmarks of the 1870s–1880s production era.
The brass adjusting nut carries Bailey’s patent dates inside, a scarce and highly collectible early feature. The plane is fitted with a Stanley “Pat. Applied” iron, clean and solid with no issues. Mechanically sound, tight, and honest—exactly what buyers want in an early long jointer.
