Showpiece Small Tail‑Handled Coachmaker’s Plow PlaneAdjustable Fence • Depth Stop • Beech Body • Rosewood Fence • Brass MechanismA beautiful small tail‑handled coachmaker’s plow plane, built with elegant curves and refined details that make it a true showpiece. The beech body is gracefully shaped, the rosewood fence adds contrast and sophistication, and the brass mechanism provides both durability and visual appeal. This compact plow features an adjustable fence and depth stop, giving it full functionality despite its small size. It displays the classic coachmaker’s aesthetic—flowing lines, tight proportions, and a sculptural tail handle that feels as good as it looks. The plane is missing its iron, and the body has a tight, common check, as pictured. This type of check is frequently seen on small tail‑handled plows due to the stresses placed on the body during seasonal movement. Even so, it remains a striking and highly displayable example.
